Kolkata: Partha Sarathi Deb, a renowned Bengali actor, passed away at a hospital in the city while undergoing treatment, as confirmed by his family on Saturday. He was 68 years old. Partha Sarathi Deb breathed his last at 11:50 pm on Friday night after battling COPD-related ailments for an extended period. He had been receiving treatment at the state-run M R Bangur Hospital for the past month.
His health deteriorated significantly over the last week, leading to his admission to the ICU. Partha Sarathi Deb, well-known for his appearances in television serials and feature films, including the recently released “Raktabeej,” leaves behind a legacy spanning over 200 works encompassing theatre, serials, films, and web series.
He held the position of vice president at the West Bengal Motion Picture Artists Forum. The forum expressed deep condolences over his demise, announcing that his mortal remains will be brought to Technician Studio, a place intimately associated with the late actor.
